Can my film get x-ray damage?

X-ray damage is very rare, and often it takes multiple scans for the damage to be seen on the film… but that doesn’t mean you can’t be mindful and prepared!

Let’s start with shipping film. We have never seen a roll of film that was damaged by x-ray machines during shipping, be it domestic or international shipping. We have some suggestions for what carriers we recommend when shipping your film to the lab.

When traveling, we always suggest taking your film with you in your carry-on bag and ask for the film to be hand checked. Not all airport security systems and personnel are the same, so anticipate having different experiences at different airports.
